Verna and my first Christmas present
My oldest sister, Verna, became a teacher, and with a bit of the $300 she received, she came home for Christmas, after her first term away, with decorations for the tree, a homemade Monopoly board and presents for all of us.

Uncle Henry
Uncle Henry was one of my father’s brothers. Although he helped the family move to Saskatchewan, he returned to Minnesota and helped set up the Veterans of Foreign Wars association there, which began to ensure rights for veterans and their families.
The Submission
