We expected rain and wind for the second day and we were not disappointed. Not that I am happy with wind and rain but the weather forecasters were right! It wasn’t all that windy but certainly rainy and cold.

Now one of my picks, Henrik Stenson (-9), (commonly referred to in my family as “Cousin Henrik” as you know my parents came from Sweden and Henrik is a Swede) is playing very well in the cold, rainy conditions. Right now he is SIX UNDER for the day and only one behind Phil. Good work cousin! My other picks are Sergio Garcia,  Rory McIlroy, Brandon Grace and Lee Westwood.

I don’t know whether to hope for good or bad weather! Henrik and Phil played good in the bad weather. I think Henrik would do the best when the weather is very horrendous.

Phil Mickelson was pretty good to finish the second day at -10 carding a scored of 69. It was an exceptional round considering most times you can’t follow a really great score of 63 with another good score! Phil, of course, was quite positive after his round today.

For Day Three we had Phil and Henrik in the final twosome. After a thrilling opening two days, Phil Mickelson had only a one shot advantage over Henrik. It was a back and forth tussle today.  First with Henrik making overall 3 birdies, 2 bogeys and then 2 birdies for a 68.  Phil had overall 2 birdies, 1 bogey, 1 birdie and 1 bogey for a 70. The end result is a one stroke lead by Henrik over Phil.

Hang onto your hats boys!  Sunday is going to be quite the show and you can bet that those within a half dozen shots of the lead playing tomorrow will be trying their best to make a challenge for first place.

We have been subject to watching some of the best golfing ever these past three days.
